To celebrate the announcement of ‘Punk Goes Punk vol.7‘, we decided to put down a list of our favourite rock covers of pop songs. So in no particular order, here are 5 song covers you need to listen to right now!

Against The Current feat. Set It Off- Uptown Funk/Bruno Mars

Against The Current’s cover of Bruno Mars’ ‘Uptown Funk’ featuring Set It Off brings the same energy as the original, but with a more rock twist. With complimenting vocals from both Chrissy (ATC) and Cody (SIO), this song is a perfect way to spice up any day.

Our Last Night – Shape Of You/Ed Sheeran

Our Last Night’s cover of 2017 hit ‘Shape Of You’ turns the pop dance hit into something a little more heavy. While it may be a rock cover, the song still keeps the elements of the original showing how they can make it both their own, and still true to the original. With great instrumentals, a great drum pattern and some pretty awesome vocals this a cover to definitely check out!

Fame On Fire – Numb/Linkin Park

While not exactly being a cover of a pop song, Fame On Fire’s cover of ‘Numb’ by Linkin Park shows how sticking to the original, but adding your own little elements can be just as good as changing  the track completely. This cover shows both emotion and a great video that matches the style of the song.

Annisokay – Wrecking Ball/Miley Cyrus

Back in the days where Miley Cyrus shocked us all with her video for ‘Wrecking Ball’, we also see Annisokay show off their post-hardcore cover of the pop hit. incorporating metal into the hit helps to highlight the songs original emotion. Make sure to check it out!

Silence The City – Bad Blood/Taylor Swift

Silence The City’s cover of Taylor Swift’s ‘Bad Blood’ offers a great different side to the song showing anger through both the vocals and instrumentals. definitely a covert o check out even if you didn’t like the original!
